ALR International From West Highlights the Key Cases and Trends in the Global Practice of Law

EAGAN, Minn., March 3, 2010 – Every day, legal issues arise across borders, requiring attorneys around the world to quickly understand how other jurisdictions have ruled. The release of ALR® International, a new series from West in print and online, meets the growing demand for analysis of cases of global interest.
Written by a global team of attorneys, ALR International provides analysis of specific legal issues and cases that have been litigated in both English and non-English-speaking countries, such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and Korea.
Topics covered in ALR International include those arising under international conventions and treaties, in areas such as international trade, intellectual property, family law, human rights, evidence abroad and other matters. A global editorial board of highly esteemed practitioners, judges and professors review the volumes and suggest topics in expanding areas of law.
"With the continued growth of international law, ALR International is an invaluable tool as more global transactions and legal issues arise," said Jean Maess, vice president, Analytical Publishing, West. "It helps attorneys broaden the types of cases they handle, with expert insight from international contributors who are in the best position to know the laws and practices of their jurisdictions."
ALR International addresses legal issues of global import, whether or not the U.S. is affected, and international topics that are not limited to any particular country or jurisdiction. It also includes special features such as an expanded jurisdictional table of cases, laws and rules with citations to international decisions, online research tip boxes that provide query suggestions for Westlaw® research and ALR International alerts, which highlight coverage available in both the current and the upcoming volumes of the set.
The series is available on west.thomson.com.
