- Automated Document Summaries: Deal Proof's summaries organize information contained within documents, even long and complex ones, into to easy-to-use indexes, providing you with a top-down view of any document or collection of documents. Deal Proof includes index types that are specifically targeted at different practice areas, including litigation, corporate, real estate, tax, trusts and estates, and many others.
- Substantive Proofreading: Deal Proof's proofreading function delivers a substantive review of information and highlights potential problem areas within documents. Areas of concern are categorized for you according to whether the potential problem or issue relates to defined terms, numeration, unpaired punctuation, or non-conforming phrases. This sophisticated function is not designed to replace your word processor's spelling or grammar checker; instead the proofreading algorithm actually understands the unique language of attorneys and how legal documents should be constructed. Flags are displayed to notify you visually of issues that need to be addressed and may be viewed individually or in summary by type of issue.
- Web-Style Interface: Deal Proof provides a number of time-saving features including a web-style interface that includes hyperlinks between core concepts for intuitive point-and-click navigation. These relationships are created automatically, so it takes no time for all for you to reap the benefits. Simply navigate within and between documents, click an issue within a document, make changes to resolve a problem, and then move on to address the next issue.
- Online Research and Citation Verification: Deal Proof automates the process of identifying laws and cases that are cited or referenced within documents, and it also connects to Westlaw for review and citation-checking purposes. When you need to file a brief with a court, Deal Proof automatically downloads referenced cases and statutes so that they can be submitted either electronically or in traditional hard copy format.
What are the system requirements for Deal Proof?
You can use Deal Proof to analyze Microsoft Word (.doc) or Corel WordPerfect (.wpd) files. For more information, see the Deal Proof system requirements.
Does Deal Proof have special installation requirements?
Deal Proof analyzes documents created by word-processing applications and displays reports and results within that application. Since you typically use Deal Proof to analyze documents created by a word processor, it is likely that you already have this software installed on your workstation. You can install Deal Proof on a workstation without a word processor; however, you will not be able to analyze and work with documents.
Does Deal Proof require a document management system (DMS)?
Deal Proof does not require a DMS but will integrate with many popular systems, such as Docs Open or Interwoven. You can analyze documents that are stored within a DMS, on a network drive, or on your local hard drive.
If my organization's Document Management System (DMS) is upgraded, how is Deal Proof affected?
Deal Proof typically recognizes any change in your computer environment and adjusts accordingly. If you upgrade to a beta version or an extremely new version of a DMS, however, you may also need to upgrade to a newer version of Deal Proof. Deal Proof Customer Support can assist you with any DMS compatibility questions and provide the necessary information about upgrade requirements to ensure ongoing interoperability between Deal Proof and your DMS.
Is Deal Proof supported in CITRIX?
