Q:
How can I access a database if I can't remember the database name or identifier—or even the name of the publication?
A:
Use the Search these databases text box anyway.
Search these databases text boxSuppose you want to find an article in Houston's major daily newspaper. Further, suppose you don't know the correct Westlaw database identifier to type in the Search these databases text box.
Worse, you can't even remember the name of the newspaper.
You can still access the database! Here's a fast way: In the Search these databases text box in the left frame of the Westlaw GC page, type all or part of the database name or a description of the database, e.g., houston tx newspaper. Then click Go.
List of databases most closely matching descriptionA list of the databases most closely matching the concepts in your description is displayed. Click a database name, e.g., Houston Chronicle, to display the Search page for that database. Alternatively, use the check boxes to select more than one database to search and click OK to display a Search page for the databases you selected.
