User-Defined Documents in Cowles TrusTerminator allow you to integrate your own letters and documents into the system while utilizing the functionality that Cowles Customizer provides. These letters and documents may contain any desired text, and may utilize the style and merge codes provided for in the system such as bold and italics as well as insertion of merge data such as the decedent's name or surviving spouse information.

These documents are created within the Cowles Customizer area of TrusTerminator. (Detailed information on creating these documents is available on Cowles Members Only.) Once these documents have been added within Cowles Customizer, they may be selected and generated from User-Defined Documents on the Generation menu in TrusTerminator.

There are four types of User-Defined Documents:

• Correspondence to Trustees
• Correspondence to Beneficiaries
• Correspondence to Contacts
• Other

Each area contains up to 20 documents which may be customized to your specifications.

After your selections are made, continue with one of these options:

• If additional documents are to be selected in other areas such as "User-Defined Documents - To Trustees", scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "Return to User-Defined Documents Menu".
• If your selections are complete, click "Create Documents" to generate your documents in your word processor.
