CORP-ALL and UCC-ALL: Easier on the eyes

When it comes to readability, even the stodgy Securities and Exchange Commission is all for it: "It is ... difficult to read dense blocks of text that run across an entire page. A number of the plain English pilot participants solved the problem by using two columns." Plain English Disclosure, Securities Act Release No. 7380, 63 SEC Docket 1487 (Jan. 14, 1997).

Now dual-column readability has come to Westlaw public records, starting with documents retrieved from the Corporate Records and Business Registrations–Combined (CORP-ALL) and Uniform Commercial Code Records–Combined (UCC-ALL) databases. The dual-column format will be released in other public records databases on a rolling basis. Note: The dual-column format does not appear in documents once you print, e-mail, or download them.

Little things make a big difference.
