West's Capitol Watch is now available at westcapitolwatch.westlaw.com as a stand-alone product, not just a tool within Westlaw Compliance Advisor. In addition, many exciting new features have been released, including the following:
- State content: You can retrieve legislative history journals, vote records, and legislative testimony (via Graphical Bills).
- Federal content: You can retrieve House and Senate reports, Congressional Record testimony, presidential documents and press conference transcripts, and other legislative and executive materials.
- Searching: You can run a global search across all bills and regulations (state, federal, or both), use Locate or Next Term functionality to browse your results, and search using the Westlaw Boolean search engine.
- Alerts: Alerts from global searches are available, as are enhanced citation lists.
- Reports: You can have bills and regulations delivered together in one report and presented in a variety of formats. Reports are saved for up to 14 days so you can retrieve and deliver them again.
- Folders: A one-folder hierarchy with unlimited depth makes documents easier to organize.
West's Capitol Watch reduces anxiety and inefficiency for professionals in highly regulated industries who have to stay current and knowledgeable on pending regulations and legislation. Though West's Capitol Watch can yield excellent results for the infrequent researcher, it is ideal for government affairs professionals (e.g., lobbyists), corporate counsel, and large law firms.
