Volumes 1-3: TREATISE. The treatise coverage is found in volumes 1-3. This represents what we believe is a significant improvement over the previous edition in several respects.

Volume 1 Chapters 1-5 The extensive individual case summary listings found in the previous edition have been integrated into more user-friendly text; old citations have been replaced with new; extensive statutory citations have been added where applicable; and the scope of coverage has been expanded. Recognizing that information on the amounts awarded in other, similar personal injury cases is often very useful in evaluating and settling claims, we have added two entire volumes which catalog reported personal injury cases by the major body part or system injured and by the action taken by the reviewing court. For the most recent cases we provide extensive details on the amounts awarded, the injuries sustained, and the circumstances of the accident. For older cases we provide a total dollar amount awarded and a brief description of the accident and injury.

Volume 6. Statutes and Rules by state (Alabama to Wyoming).
Personal injury damages are increasingly governed by state statutory law. Thus, for each jurisdictionwe have compiled the statutes relevant to personal injury damages.

Volume 7. Practice Aids.
These include investigative checklists, pattern discovery tools, pleadings, pattern jury instructions, and sample settlements and releases. Updates: Like the previous edition, the new Third Edition will be updated twice a year.
