Westlaw Research Trails are a fast and easy way to return to research you haven't completed and to document your research efforts. You can also use Research Trails to check the thoroughness of a new associate's work.

Many Westlaw subscribers can access same-day Research Trails for free.* Simply click the Research Trail link at the top of any Westlaw screen.

Research Trails help you keep track of what you've done.

• Rerun searches from the past two weeks. Research Trails are saved for 14 days; you can save individual trails longer by resetting expiration dates.
• Save routine search information. If you use the same trail often, you can rename your trails for easier recall, and add notes regarding topics, clients, and other information.
• Share your searches with others. Email your trails to yourself or your colleagues, or have your Research Trails sent automatically to a specified email address every time you sign off.
